ANSTO organises a National Science Week every year. In 2021, they organised a three-day hackathon in which Year 7 to 11 students collaborated in groups to discover and develop ideas to address problems about food production, consumption, and waste in Australia. My role was to guide the teachers and provide direct feedback to the three student groups on their design thinking process. One of the groups advanced to the Junior (years 7–8) Category finals.
