Creative Generative Artificial Intelligence in Design & Technology

Details

High school teachers must prepare students for a design future shaped by Generative Artificial Intelligence. The challenge now is ensuring responsible and ethical use, maximising creativity and learning while minimising over-reliance, bias, data risks, and environmental impact. Partnering with teacher associations, this project leverages our research in GenAI, design, education, and innovation, to develop Creative GenAI practices for high school design. Workshop 01 research teachers’ GenAI challenges and opportunities, to inform a teacher guide and protocol and validated in Workshop 02. A computer hardware company will advise on hardware, data sovereignty, energy use, and localised systems. The project delivers pedagogical models, training packages, and publications in design, technology, and education journals.
