Intersecting Worlds: When designing with Generative AI 

This 3-hour practical workshop unpacked the critical relationship between a designer’s positionality and the biases inherent in Generative AI, with a focus on creating truly inclusive and diverse outcomes. Through hands-on activities with Midjourney, participants learned to craft prompts that generate culturally accurate and diverse images, moving beyond perpetuating existing power structures. The workshop also covered the mechanics of GenAI, comparing different tools, and discussed important aspects of ownership and copyright in the age of AI-generated content. The session aimed to transform approaches to design with Generative AI.
