Enabling resilient urban infrastructure investment

Details
This project develops a new approach to evaluating the social and environmental benefits of climate-resilient infrastructure by focusing on road corridor investments in South Australia. In collaboration with CSIRO, Monash Sustainable Development Institute, Value Advisory Partners, and Systems Cooperative, the project contributes to the Enhanced Resilient Asset Delivery (ERAD) initiative by designing a practical economic analysis framework. This framework will help assess how resilient infrastructure affects local communities: socially, environmentally, and economically. By combining sustainability transitions expertise with real-world application, the project supports better infrastructure decision-making. Outcomes will feed into ERAD’s national guidance tools and lay the groundwork for broader applications across urban development, freight, energy, and architecture through future Swinburne-led research.
