Details
This research develops a network to support creative practitioners working with generative AI (GenAI) and capture rapid transformations in Australian screen storytelling and industry. The project runs co-design workshops, masterclasses, and creative commissions to explore Human-AI collaboration in filmmaking, animation, and design. It addresses cultural sovereignty, the skills divide, and human judgement, while producing an open database of algorithmic filmmakers and plain-language guides for practitioners. Outcomes will inform national policy on equitable GenAI adoption, support First Nations creative self-determination, and help the next generation of Australian screen producers sustain local cultural identity against globally standardised AI tools.
